GREENWICH, CT — When she was a congressional aide to Rep. Jim Himes (D-4th) in 2009, Amy Lappos says then-Vice President Joe Biden pulled her head towards his at a Greenwich fundraising event and rubbed noses with her.

She told the Hartford Courant that while she didn’t find it sexual, she believes the move was disrespectful and crossed a line. In fact, when it happened, her first thought was that he might kiss her on the mouth.

She wrote about the incident in the comments of a post about Lucy Flores on the Connecticut Women In Politics Facebook page under the pseudonym “Alice Paul.” Flores, a former Nevada assemblywoman, has accused Biden of inappropriate behavior.

Lappos did not file a complaint at the time, and did not tell Himes, who told the Courant that he only heard about the incident on Monday. He told the publication that he is not prepared to comment at this time.

Biden, who may be announcing a run for the Presidency in the near future, is grappling with a growing number of accusations of inappropriate behavior with women at various public functions.

While he has not directly addressed Lappos’ accusation, Biden has issued a statement stressing that he never thought his behavior was inappropriate, but he is taking the accusations seriously.
