On the latest edition of The Ross Report podcast, Jim Ross announced he will be leaving WWE when his contract expires on March 29. Ross noted on his podcast that he recently spoke to Vince McMahon and they mutually agreed to part ways. Ross also mentioned that he didn’t think he would be out of a job for long.

Late last year, Ross parted with with AXS TV where he had been announcing NJPW shows alongside Josh Barnett. Ross’s name has been linked with AEW since sources began talking about the Being the Elite crew launching their own promotion in the fall last year, but nothing is confirmed between Ross and AEW at this point.

Radican’s Analysis: Ross saying he won’t be out of word leads me to believe that there’s a good chance he will immediately make the jump to AEW when his WWE contract expires at the end of this month. It was widely believed among people I spoke to close to the situation that Ross would be leaving WWE when his contract expired at the end of March prior to his announcement today.

Ross was used sparingly by WWE during the last year. His last appearance on air with WWE was as part of the pre-show panel before the Greatest Royal Rumble special that aired on the WWE Network last April.
