Brock Lesnar is currently the Universal Champion in WWE and he is scheduled to defend his championship against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania this Sunday night. Some fans may remember when the two athletes were set to face off for the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 31 in 2015. Prior to that match, it had been rumored that Lesnar was contemplating leaving WWE in order to begin a comeback in UFC. WWE did end up managing to convince Brock Lesnar to stick around for a few more years, but unfortunately for fans of “The Beast Incarnate,” it looks like Lesnar’s days in WWE may be numbered for good.
Fast forward to WrestleMania 34 in 2018 and those rumors of Lesnar wanting to leave pro wrestling behind in order to return to the world of MMA have risen once again. Unlike the last time Lesnar’s deal with WWE came up for expiration back in 2015, it does not look like WWE was able to convince Lesnar to stay with them and he could very well be wrestling his last match for the company at WrestleMania 34 this weekend. Lesnar had already made headlines when he was caught meeting with UFC President Dana White earlier this year, but White himself has just revealed a huge update on Lesnar’s current status with WWE and his future in combat sports going forward.
During the most recent edition of UFC Tonight, Dana White officially confirmed that Brock Lesnar will be coming back to UFC for another fight very soon. He did not reveal when Lesnar will be back or who he will be fighting, but White simply announced, “yeah, Brock Lesnar’s coming back. I don’t know when, but yes he is.” WWE did allow Lesnar to compete at UFC 200 back in 2016, so it is possible that Lesnar could re-sign with WWE and still fight in the octagon. However, other reports recently provided seem to suggest that Lesnar will indeed be leaving WWE entirely to refocus on his return to MMA. Lesnar will defend his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania this Sunday night in New Orleans, Louisiana.
