It looks like the WWE Championship will, in fact, be on-the-line when former UFC Heavyweight Champions have a rematch of their Octagon battle inside the squared circle when WWE touches down at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with their WWE Crown Jewel 2019 pay-per-view on Thursday, October 31st.
The event will be the second WWE show promoted under the “Crown Jewel” chronology, and will mark the fourth event held under WWE’s 10-year partnership in support of Saudi Vision 2030.
This weekend, WWE.com updated the advertisement for the Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez match at the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view on their official website to include the listing of the match being for the WWE Championship.
When WWE originally announced the match at the press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, they did not mention that Lesnar’s title would be on-the-line, nor did they note that the match would be for the title in the initial article released via WWE.com after the presser.
Since the original announcement, WWE has updated their official website to include the mention that the Lesnar-Velasquez match will be for the WWE Championship. Additionally, Michael Cole promoted the fact that the match would be for the title during the WWE Friday Night SmackDown On FOX broadcast.
The updated blurb on the official WWE website added to the Lesnar-Velasquez announcement for WWE Crown Jewel reads as follows:
Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez – WWE Championship Match
“At WWE Crown Jewel, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will defend his title against former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez.”
