We are LIVE in: Lafayette, Louisiana

Commentators: Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler
________________________________________________

The show opens with John Cena coming out. He heads to the ring to address the fans.

Cena: Here we are in the heart of Cajun Country! We are in the right place because the Road to WrestleMania is heating up. It was a year ago that we announced WrestleMania 29 to be in the MetLife stadium. For so long that sign was words and building. Now that sign means something. It’s taking shape. We know two of the championship matches at WM 29. Jack Swagger will challenge Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. And John Cena tries his hand to be WWE Champion when he faces The Rock!

CM Punk interrupts and comes out with Paul Heyman. He walks down to the ring and steps in with a mic in hand.

Punk: You’re fighting The Rock in the main event of WrestleMania for the WWE title? You sure about that? You positive? Because that’s the easy way out if you ask me. Of course I expect nothing less from you than to take the easy way out. Let me clear the air for you. The Rock beat me last night fair and square. If you wanna go ahead and ignore the fact that I pinned him for 18 seconds and he struck a ref which should have DQed him, but yeah he beat me “fair and square”. And he beat you fair and square last year. But when we talk about wins and losses, you have never beat me.

Cena: I am not talking about wins and losses, i’m talking about WM. I won the Royal Rumble, I have the right. I’m sorry you lost, but you’ll have to step out. It’s not about you.

Punk: But it IS about me. You say you have the right? What about me? I took on all comers and single-handedly bested the best in this business? And how did you earn it? You strolled in somewhere around 25 and threw some guys out. That is the BIGGEST luck of the draw I ever saw. Besides, I already saw Rock/Cena, and you can’t win the big one.

Cena: Typical CM Punk. Coming out to air your grievances. What do you want me to do?

Punk: I just want you to walk away. You have something that doesn’t belong to you. Just leave. I want you out of my life. Quit the WWE and walk away.

Cena: No. I’ll give you credit, I admire your honesty. And I bet if you sift through all the excuses there’s a half decent human being in there. But you know i’m not going to turn down a golden ticket to WM. But with all your excuses you actually have some merit. I haven’t beat you. And I haven’t beat The Rock. So I have my credits who say “he doesn’t deserve to be in the main event.” You want to go to the main event, and I would love nothing more than to shut those critics up. SO I have a solution. I’m not going to give you a golden ticket, but i’ll let you earn it. A match. The big one. John Cena versus CM Punk. If I win, you shut your mouth, crawl back in the hole you came from and go away. If you win…then you’re right. I don’t deserve to be in the main event. If you beat me, you deserve it. You beat me right here right now and i’ll give you my title shot. Here’s the problem with calling me out. You talk business, I handle business. Let’s do this right now and see who’s going on the road to WrestleMania!

Punk talks with Heyman.

Punk: Your word? You just made the stupidest decision of your life. And i’m going to take you up on it, but i’m not going to do it here. Because i’m going to do it on my terms, and considering how because I was screwed I shouldn’t even be in this position, we’ll do it next week.

Punk leaves the ring with Heyman.

Cena: Let him go. Let him go. It’s official. Next week, CM Punk faces John Cena. Winner goes on to face The Rock for the WWE Championship. He wants a week to rest, I say give it to him. I want everyone who stands behind this to know that I will beat you, and at WrestleMania I will beat The Rock, and you will all know that the champ is here!

Punk and Heyman talk to each other as they walk up the ramp casually while Cena watches them go.

Next week, John Cena takes on CM Punk.

But tonight, The Rock will come out for a WWE Championship celebration.

Up next, Mark Henry will be in action.

Matt Striker is backstage with Sheamus.

Striker: Sheamus, I’d just like to get your thoughts on what happened last night against The Shield.

Sheamus: Listen, last night didn’t go according to plan. I feel like I let everybody-OY!

Sheamus walks over to Ryback who has been pacing in front of him.

Sheamus: HEY! You think you’re the only one affected by what happened last night? Do you have any feelings at all? Or are you some kind of mindless neanderthal?

Ryback: Mindless neanderthal?!

Jericho walks over and holds them off.

Jericho: HEY! HEY! Stop it! You should be mad, but not at each other. Be mad at The Shield. We know these guys are a pack of wolves. We’ve seen this with the NWO, with Nexus. But these guys are a different level. We have to do something about it. Yes, I said we. I love the WWE and i’ve been here since 1999. I’m not going anywhere else. Now i’m going to go talk to Vickie Guerrero and do something about it. I think we should put together the box office appeal of Ryback, Sheamus and Y2J. And if I go talk to her tonight, I guarantee we’ll see that match in Cajun country on RAW…IS…JERICHO!

Sheamus: If you can make it happen, you got a deal.

Ryback: Done.

Jericho: Alright.

Jericho leaves. Ryback looks at Sheamus.

A pre-recorded video plays of Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger.

Zeb: America was built as the land of opportunity where people could pay their taxes and find a better way of life. But now that land of opportunity has become a land of despair. We’ve allowed a bunch of greedy delinquents to come in and rob us of our wealth. They come in with 22 kids and their hands out begging for the generosity and hospitality of America. It has drained us of our prosperity. No more. If you’re looking for a handout, we’ll give you a handout. That handout will be a one way ticket back to where you came from. If our government won’t help us, I know who will. Jack, you tell them.

Swagger: We…the people.

Zeb: That’s right.

Still to come, The Rock’s celebration ceremony.

Orton: There was a time when you saying that would have me shaking in my boots. But now with you having therapy sessions and trading tombstone piledrivers for hugs, you’re not exactly the Big Red Monster. You’re more like Barney the Dinosaur.

Orton leaves.

Bryan: HA! Barney. That’s a good one.

Kane looks pissed.

Meanwhile, Vickie is on the phone. Heyman walks over to her. She hangs up.

Vickie: Hello, Paul! I just wanna say congratulations on putting those spectacular stipulations on Punk’s title match even though Rock still managed to win. Good for you! I have some great news, no, dramatic news that’s going to affect your whole career.

Zeb: It’s President’s Day so let me take a moment to thank our Founding Fathers for creating the Bill of Rights. And the Bill gives me and Jack the right to voice our opinion. You may not agree. You may not like it, but the first amendment is what proud Americans have. The state of our country is pathetic. But Americans are not to blame. The blame is on the shoulders of millions of people living in this country illegally. They live here and have not qualms about taking our jobs, our education, and our freedom. And here on President’s Day I think it’s high time we put a stop to it. We have a big problem and we should put a stop to it. Real Americans need to stand up and say no more. That is what Jack Swagger is prepared to do. Last night Jack Swagger won the right to face the World Champion at WrestleMania. But now it’s become more than a title match. It’s become a battle for the heart and soul of this country. On one side you have a real patriot, a real American, Jack Swagger. On the other you gave a World Champion by the name of Alberto Del Rio. A man who came into this country to take advantage of our motherland. Swagger is going to accomplish two goals at WM. He’s going to win the World title and reclaim American. Heyman: CM Punk and I requested that if Rock lose via DQ or count out that he would lose the title, and I thank you for having the heart to grant-

McMahon: Everyone knows I don’t have a heart. If I did it would be black and cold. Let me show you footage of last week.

A clip last Monday shows Paul saying he would do anything to get that stipulation.

McMahon: If you recall Mr. Heyman I had “anything” put in writing. You’re incapable of telling the truth, but anything means anything. For example I could fire you right now. That would be a very good idea. But firing is too good for you quite frankly. I’m only two weeks removed from hip surgery thanks to Brock Lesnar and you.

Heyman: I had nothing to do with that-

[Commercial]

A Louisiana marching band comes out and performs down the ramp. They form two lines.

WWE Champion The Rock comes out and heads to the ring. There’s a table in the ring with a belt shaped object covered in a cloth. Rock enters the ring and soaks in the love before speaking.

Rock: CM Punk last night you did everything you could to beat The Rock. And you showed everyone what a walking piece of garbage you were when you spit in The Rock’s face. Well two times in a row The Rock beat your monkey ass in the ring 1-2-3. Which allowed The Rock to wake up this morning in New Orleans, drive down here, walk down the aisle, enter this ring, hold this WWE Championship and know that we are live and the world is watching. And when the world is watching they know that FINALLY, THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO LAFAYETTE!

Rock: 48 days until WrestleMania. The Rock is going to WM as WWE Champion, but he’s not going with this.

Rock holds up the title.

Rock: You guys know my story, i’ve been around a long time in this business. I have deep respect for the WWE Championship. When this title was unveiled 8 years ago by a certain WWE Superstar, it worked. And there was some people who thought this title was cool. But there’s also some people who believe in Bigfoot. But the bottom line is this. The Championship title should never look like a toy. And it should never ever…

Rock spins the centerpiece.

Rock: …spin.

Rock hands the title to an official.

Rock: You make sure that title goes in the Hall of Fame. To me, to The Rock, when you see the WWE Championship title, whether you’re a Superstar, part of the Universe, or watching it for the first time, it should inspire you. It should be worthy to be worn around the waists of great men who held the title and paved the way. Bruno Sammartino. Hulk Hogan. Bret “The Hitman” Hart, and The Rock’s good buddy Stone Cold Steve Austin. With that in mind ladies and gentlemen of Lafayette, and everyone around the world, I give to you your new WWE Championship.
