AEW President and CEO Tony Khan joined Wrestling Observer Live with Bryan Alvarez and Mike Sempervive today for a wide-ranging interview.
Among the topics discussed were Khan’s booking philosophy, the difference between booking for his own personal tastes and a wider audience, who he had his eye on from the indies when AEW began and the early days of the internet wrestling community.
Khan also discussed Sunday’s AEW special on Bleacher Report, the Revolution PPV, AEW’s working relationships with Impact Wrestling and NJPW, and the Women’s World title eliminator tournament.
With respect to individual talent, Khan discussed Tay Conti’s potential stardom, Ricky Starks, Eddie Kingston’s importance to AEW, Orange Cassidy and Best Friends, convincing Trent to come to AEW, approaching people to come to AEW at the start and getting turned down.
