Kris Statlander will not be challenging Riho for the AEW Women’s World Championship on the Jan. 1st “Homecoming” edition of AEW Dynamite as previously advertised.

Due to a scheduling conflict, Statlander will not be in Jacksonville, FL for next week’s television taping. However, a replacement has been named, as Riho will now defend her title in a Fatal 4-Way match against Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida and Nyla Rose.

Statlander, currently sitting at #1 in the women’s division rankings, has taken the company by storm in a relatively short period of time.

After debuting on the Nov. 13th edition of AEW DARK, albeit on the losing end of a tag team match, she went on to score three consecutive singles wins over Hikaru Shida, Bea Priestley and Britt Baker in back-to-back weeks.

The good news is that Statlander will still receive her earned title match on Jan. 8th in Southaven, as she will face the winner of the Fatal 4-Way match on that week’s AEW Dynamite.
