Former WWE World Champion Jake Hager Has Arrived in All Elite Wrestling

It wouldn’t be the premiere of a major pro-wrestling television series without a few shocking twists and unexpected debuts, and Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite certainly did not disappoint in delivering on the goods.

As we already reported, the inaugural broadcast featured the total collapse of a six-man tag team main event, as Jon Moxley returned to brutally assault Kenny Omega, dropping him head-first through a glass table. The Young Bucks attempted to go it alone against the formidable team of AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, Santana and Ortiz, but in the end The Elite was defeated.

Following the main event, the chaos intensified as the trio continued to put the boots to the Young Bucks, to the point where the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes rushed the ring – only to suffer the same fate in a 3-on-1 beatdown.

That was just the start.

By the time credits rolled on the first episode of AEW Dynamite, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jake Hager (formerly known as Jack Swagger) made his debut, joining forces with Jericho, Santana, Ortiz and Sammy Guevara to beat down Cody, his brother Goldust and the Bucks.

While it’s unclear what unites this unlikely five-some of world class superstars, it would appear that – at least for now – they are all operating on the same page, and that can’t be a good thing for anyone else on the AEW roster.
