Brian Pillman Jr. recently appeared on Chris Van Vilet’s YouTube channel, where he talked about a wide range of topics. One of those topics was the infamous gun angle that took place between his late father Brian Pillman Sr. and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Fans may be surprised to know the segment was actually shot at Pillman’s home.

“I remember being there. I was in the house. And of course the crew guys, you know, the young boys, whoever, they come up and they’re just like ‘hey, everybody stay upstairs.’ And we’re just like ‘what’s going on?’ You know, me and my little sister are just freaking out. You know, Stone Cold’s just circling the building, he’s trying to find a way in. And all of a sudden, we hear the glass break and the rest is history. And then seeing it on TV, that pure emotion, that pure anger of someone invading your home. What would you do? Of course you would pull out a gun.”

Longtime WWE fans will remember that episode of Raw from 1996 as being one of the most controversial moments in the program’s history to that point. It was so controversial in fact, that WWE apologized for the segment afterward.

But Pillman may have a different opinion than other fans who thought the spot was distasteful and sensationalistic.

“But guess what? That’s one of the most remembered things in wrestling history. When you push the envelope, when you cross the line, guess what? You make history.”

Pillman also said he had very few memories of his father. That’s mostly due to his age at the time and the fact that “The Loose Cannon” was always on the road.

Brian Pillman Sr. passed away on October 5, 1997 at the age of 35. Brian Pillman Jr. recently celebrated his first year anniversary of working in the pro wrestling business. He was trained by Lance Storm at the Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
