Length of Tessa Blanchard’s New Impact Deal
As noted, Impact Wrestling announced earlier this week that Knockout Tessa Blanchard had signed a “long-term” deal with the company, and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports the deal is for two years.
MLW Trademarks Classic WCW Match Name
We previously reported that MLW intends to run a War Games cage match on September 6th at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has since reported MLW has trademarked the term War Games, which comes on the heels of WWE running a War Games titled NXT Takeover special last year.
The report adds WWE likely believes they already own the term War Games since they own the WCW IP, but MLW’s Court Bauer noted he trademarked the term months ago. Bauer added that he has no issue with other promotions using the War Games name, and he only trademarked it to make ensure he could use the name for his promotion.
