Speaking following Olympique de Marseille’s second victory over Sporting Club de Portugal in the Champions League (0-2), captain Mattéo Guendouzi looked forward to Sunday’s Classique against Paris Saint-Germain, and is relishing a chance for his side to test itself against the Parisian side, as transcribed by L’Équipe.
“On Sunday, it will be a very important match for us, for the fans, we are confident, aware of our qualities, we will do everything to win, while going into it with humility. It’s going to be hard, but it will be a great game. I hope it will go well for us.”
Guendouzi scored a penalty in the game against Sporting in which fellow former Arsenal man Alexis Sánchez scored a goal for the Olympians, as well as being aided by two red cards as Sporting went down to nine men. However, it opens up group D for the Ligue 1 side – which opens the possibility of seeing OM progress in the Champions League if they get positive results in the next few fixtures.
