According to Foot Mercato Lille midfielder Renato Sanches is currently in Paris to complete his medical this afternoon ahead of a €15m move to PSG.
Last night it was reported that Paris Saint-Germain and Lille found an agreement in principles over a €15m fee for the Portuguese international after sources contacted by Get French Football News yesterday confirmed that the Ligue 1 champions were pushing for an obligatory loan-to-buy deal, with Lille preferring a permanent offer from AC Milan.
However, the player already agreed terms in principle with PSG – and favoured a move to the French capital. A breakthrough in talks happened shortly after 10.30pm local time last night with PSG accepting to make their offer a permanent transfer worth €15m – Milan’s bid, which was also accepted, was worth €16m.
Sanches leaves Lille after an impressive three-year spell which was somewhat blighted by injury after arriving from Bayern Munich. However, the midfielder made 91 appearances and was notably part of the team that won the 2020/21 league title.
