Foot Mercato are reporting that Manchester City were amongst the clubs who scouted Bordeaux striker Sékou Mara (19) during the recent Maurice Revello tournament.

Mara scored 5 goals in the final 8 matches of the season for Bordeaux, as the side were relegated to Ligue 2 having finished bottom of Ligue 1. Consequently, Bordeaux need to offload a large chunk of their first-team squad, and it has been reported that as many as 18 players could need to be sold.

However, there is a strong desire to keep Mara, who has scored 5 goals in 4 appearances for the France U20 side at the Maurice Revello tournament. Manchester City, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Marseille, Montpellier, Werder Bremen and Freiburg have all been scouting the player at the tournament and could be set to test Bordeaux’s resolve.

According to Foot Mercato, a minimum of €10 will be required to buy the French striker, and given the sheer quantity of international scouts present at the tournament, it is clear that he is not short of admirers. Foot Mercato have also previously reported that Monaco and Lyon are also interested in Bordeaux’s young French striker.
