RMC Sport report this morning that Ahmed H., a former Ligue 1 scout, was yesterday evening sentenced to 18 years of prison for rape and sexual assault.
Thirteen young footballers had come forward to accuse the 49-year-old of events which took place from 2003 to 2018. Nine of these regarded the rape and sexual assault offences.
The former scout, who for instance worked for Nantes, will also be subject to follow-up monitoring for five years with an obligation of treatment. His lawyers could appeal the decision in the coming days, after a trial behind closed doors which last two weeks.
The public prosecutor had initially called for a 15-year sentence, with the jury going further. The man had been charged with “rape and sexual assault by a person in a position of authority” on minors under 15, “sexual suggestions by electronic means” and “corruption of minors”.
