RMC Sport report that Jorge Sampaoli’s entourage have told them that the Argentinian manager wants to become the new boss at Ligue 1 side Marseille.
They confirm that contacts and talks are ongoing with Marseille. Up until recently, they have centred around Sampaoli’s availability and whether or not he would want to come. No financial or contractual negotiations have begun yet. But Sampaoli has confirmed his interest in the job.
At the same time, he still wants to see through the current season with Atletico Mineiro in Brazil, the club that he is currently managing. Any arrival at Marseille therefore would not take place until March.
The OM board is not in a rush owing to the good atmosphere that interim coach Nasser Larguet has imbued in the squad.
