Speaking in an interview with a Burkina Faso publication, L’Étalon, Lyon winger Bertrand Traoré sought to confirm that he would seek to exit the club before this transfer window comes to and end. The 25-year-old has a contract until June 2022.
“We should not exclude a departure. I have been at Lyon for 3 years. I have had two wonderful years. The third was a bit more difficult. That is part of the life of a professional footballer. Now, I have two years remaining on my contract. I am 25, I have played everywhere where I have been. I need to play. I have no time to waste, I am no longer a player who is 18, 19 or 20. We will see what happens.”
On Rudi Garcia:
When the coach arrived, from the beginning things were clear. He put me on the bench for two consecutive matches. The third match, I was in the stands. I would not say that the message was very clear, but it was quite clear. He has his preferences, his choices. I respect them, I work. I try to give my maximum and we will see what will happen.

On interest:
It is true that there is interest. When there is interest you cannot just decide to join a club just like that. There is a process. A whole staff behind it. You have study the interest, see how you feel. I still have 2 years on my contract. I also have to respect my employer. I am professional and I will stay professional no matter what happens. That is what I do. If I have to take a decision, I will take it based on what I am offered.
