Wales outside centre George North said his team have three fixtures “to make it right” after they started their Autumn Nations Series campaign with a 55-23 defeat against New Zealand in Cardiff on Saturday.
After clinching a first-ever win over the Springboks on South African soil in their 2-1 series defeat in July, Wales came into their clash with the All Blacks in a confident mood but things did not go their way as they suffered their 33rd loss in a row in that fixture.
Wales‘ next game is against Argentina, who beat them comfortably in Cardiff last year, before they finish their Autumn Nations Series campaign with Tests against Georgia and Australia.
Improvement imperative
And they will have to improve in those three Tests, especially on their defence which conceded eight tries against the All Blacks.
“The autumn series is four big Tests back to back, and we are quickly into it now,” North said.

“The games will come thick and fast, and we’ve got three to make it right.
“There were glimpses of some good rugby in there from us, but it is an 80-minute performance we need.
“It was a mixed bag. The scoreline has its own story, but when you were in it, we felt like we were going toe to toe.
“We fronted up on a number of occasions, but obviously let some easy tries in, which you can’t do at this level. We have got to be on the money from minute one.
“We created the opportunities, we need to be a bit more clinical, we have got to look at exits in terms of getting out of our 22 and take the pressure off us, rather than compound those issues.”
Wales struggled from the onset and were behind 17-0 midway through the opening half but did well to narrow the gap to six points early in the second half.
However, New Zealand took ontrol of proceedings as the match progressed and sealed an easy win in the end. It was the 10th successive time that they have notched 30 points against Wales.
Turns focus to remaining Tests
North is eager to put that result behind him and is focused on getting Wales’ Autumn Nations Series campaign back on track.
“We’ve got three games left now, then a short time away and back for the Six Nations,” he added.
“Every time you are on the field at Test level, you have got to take your minutes, your opportunities and really put a performance in.”
