Nantes have completed the signing of Brazilian defensive midfielder Andrei Girotto from Chapecoense on a deal that will take him to the year 2021.

The 25-year-old joined Chapecoense following their tragic aircraft disaster in 2016, with Girotto joining from Tombense shortly after. He has played 23 times for the Brazilian club, scoring just twice.

“I am happy to be here, Nantes is a big club and I have also contacted several players from the French Ligue 1 who helped me make my decision,” said the new Nantes man.

“My first impression are very good, just like the infrastructure so I am going to do everything to help the team and make the fans happy. It is also a great honour to play for a manager of the standing of Claudio Ranieri.”
