According to today’s edition of L’Équipe, Premier League side Middlesbrough have made their interest in Lyon central midfielder Clément Grenier known to the relevant parties.

Grenier, despite coming back from injury in the second half of the season, has struggled to break back into the first team in any meaningful way, and Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas recently announced at an event that Grenier had been transfer listed, before suggesting that the central midfielder had “proved that he deserves to be with us.”

A move away from Lyon for Grenier is undoubtedly possible, but with only a newly promoted Premier League side currently interested, it would be wrong to say that a move is probable.
