According to L’Équipe Bayern Munich have just rejected a last minute offer for French defender Benjamin Pavard (26). The Italian club offered Pavard, who is under contract until 2024, a place as a central defender, a position he has desired to play in for several seasons at the Bavarian club.

However, Bayern Munich rejected the proposal, as they still have plans to extend Pavard’s contract and play him  centrally with the addition of Joao Cancelo from Manchester City helping out in the wide areas for the Bundesliga side.

The discussions reportedly lasted several hours, with a deal shaping up in the form of a loan with an option to buy the player – however, Bayern Munich turned down the proposal. It leaves Inter still searching for a defender in the last hour of the Italian transfer window to allow an early winter departure of Milan Skriniar to PSG.
