Achraf Hakimi, 4

Marquinhos, 5

Presnel Kimpembe, 6

Juan Bernat, 4

Leandro Paredes, 4

Marco Verratti, 6 – He lacked tangible end product and the irresistible verve of his best displays but was hugely important to PSG’s, admittedly stuttering, midfield machine. He provided 30 more pressures than any other Paris player with 42 and lead his team in defensive actions.

Xavi Simons, 6 – Lively and direct in possession and added some neat passing from his hybrid right-sided role that saw him defend as the right of a narrow four and attack as a winger. He probably should’ve scored, however, after Mbappé hit the post, but his shot lacked conviction.

Julian Draxler, 4

Lionel Messi, 6 – He continues to be unjustly, if understandably, criticised for a lack of goals but, although his passing radar wasn’t always finely tuned, he added the most shot-creating actions of anyone with eight and worked well with Mbappé throughout, setting up the winner.

Kylian Mbappé, 7 – Rarely played with the intensity he’s capable of but was still PSG’s standout threat all night with some jinking skill in midfield and a turn of pace on the flanks. It was he who won the game late on with a precise finish having effortlessly been the game’s best player.

Others: Icardi 5, Di Maria 5, Wijnaldum 5, Kehrer 5, Mendes 5.

RENNES – 0

Doğan Alemdar, 5

Hamari Traoré, 5

Warmed Omari, 6 – Praised by his coach afterward for a stoic display having handled both Messi and Mbappé with relative ease, until injury time.

Nayef Aguerd, 5

Birger Meling, 6 – He was very rarely, if ever, exposed on his flank by Simons, Draxler or the front two and led Rennes with 16 defensive actions. Not far off 7.

Jonas Martin, 5

Baptiste Santamaria, 5

Lovro Majer, 6

Benjamin Bourigeaud, 6

Martin Terrier, 4

Gaëtan Laborde, 4

Others: Truffert 5, Guirassy 5, Sulemana 5, Assignon 5.
