PSG were close to signing OGC Nice midfielder Jean-Michaël Seri in the final hours of the window, offering a loan deal with a €15m upfront fee and a €25m option to buy plus Hatem Ben Arfa, according to L’Équipe.

In theory, OGC Nice were willing to go ahead with the deal, but Hatem Ben Arfa was not. The Frenchman wanted PSG to pay him the final year of his contract, around €7m, in order to leave for free. Ben Arfa refused and the deal broke down.
