The first 60 Second Preview of the season deals with tonight’s Ligue 1 opener between Lille and PSG.
The 2015/16 Ligue 1 season kicks off at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, as Lille take on reigning champions PSG. Lille’s new manager Herve Renard could not have been handed a much tougher opener, but he will be hoping his youthful side can spring an early surprise as they look to improve on last season’s eighth placed finish.
PSG, meanwhile, begin their quest for a fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title. The visitors added yet another trophy to their collection by winning the Trophee des Champions last weekend, defeating Lyon 2-0 in Montreal, and are overwhelming favourites to retain the league crown again come May. They start the season without the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whilst star signing Angel Di Maria currently lacks match fitness, but new boys Kevin Trapp and Benjamin Stambouli are available to make their league debuts.
