Fashion Fringe, the Tom Ford chaired competition that aims to discover and nurture the best of British design talent, on Tuesday launched its official 2007 competition with a party at the Dorcester Hotel in London. Fashion Fringe, the brainchild of fashion author Colin McDowell and IMG, has to date seen fashion success stories with winners Basso & Brooke and Erdem, as well as runners up Sinha Stanic, all of whom are selling to renowned worldwide stockists and have managed to start up successful labels and brands.
The event saw the who’s who of the industry celebrate one of Britain’s most important fashion endeavours, and included Tom Ford, Vogue.com’s editor Dolly Jones and International Herald Tribune’s Suzie Menkes and Net-a-porter founder Nathalie Massanet.
Fashion Fringe 2007 will see the fourth year of the competition, arguably the hottest thing to hit British fashion in the last 20 years. Fashion Fringe looks for cutting edge, iconoclastic talent in design and creativity to continue the tradition Britain has long been famous for. The closing dates for applications is April 27th, 2007.
