Backstage at Elimination Chamber, Cody Rhodes Injury Update

WWE is presenting their Elimination Chamber pay-per-view tonight and the card is set to feature competitors from both Raw and SmackDown. Among the matches on tonight’s card will be an Tag Team Elimination Chamber match which will determine the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions. Carmella & Naomi, Bayley & Sasha Banks, The IIconics, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan, and Nia Jax & Tamina will be involved in that match. Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Ruby Riott during the show. However, it appears that one more woman on the WWE roster may be making an appearance of some kind during tonight’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
According to PWInsider, former wrestler Paige is backstage at the site of tonight’s Elimination Chamber event. As of right now, WWE has not announced Paige for the show, which means that it is not clear why she is at the show or what she will be doing. It is possible that Paige could be appearing on the Kickoff show for the pay-per-view as she has done that on past WWE events. She could also be there to promote the Fighting With My Family film just like she did during Raw this past Monday night. It’s even likely that Paige may just be visiting backstage and not actually making an onscreen appearance. Either way, it should be interesting to see Paige during WWE’s PPV tonight if she does end up making a cameo in any way.
Cody Rhodes has not competed in a ring in a couple of weeks now due to a knee injury, and the AEW Executive Vice President doesn’t even have a match scheduled for the Double or Nothing event as of right now. Rhodes has chosen to have surgery on the knee though and he just just provided a small update on his official Instagram account regarding the status of his injury. Rhodes shared a photo of his knee two days after the surgery took place, and he certainly seems optimistic about recovering from the injury fairly quickly. Double or Nothing takes place on May 25th, so there is a chance that he will be able to wrestle on AEW’s first official show after all. The photo posted by Cody can be checked out down below:
