After her victory over Sasha Banks at the WWE Royal Rumble 2019 pay-per-view on Sunday night, RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey spoke with WWE broadcast team member Charly Caruso backstage at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona for a post-match interview.

Rousey praised “The Boss” for pushing her to a new level during their match on Sunday night, but noted she isn’t sure if their is a mutual respect between them because Banks sends mixed signals. One thing “Rowdy” Ronda didn’t seem to particularly care for was Banks’ talk about the Four Horsewomen.

Rousey claims she and her friends (Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir) were the Four Horsewomen before they came to WWE and that it wasn’t just a marketing ploy, it was real and personal to all of them. She said the WWE version of the Four Horsewomen (Banks, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bayley) are trying to take something that’s real to her and package it to the masses in a false way, as she noted that the four members of the WWE version of the group don’t even get along with each other. She said if they held the four fingers up with the same feeling as she and her friends, it would be different, but she feels it’s nothing more than a marketing gimmick.

As far as the subject of respect is concerned, Rousey noted, “Respect isn’t really being given to me openly from many of the women, but I feel like that’s just an invitation for me to take it from them.”

She added, “I love a good challenge, and they do too. So let’s do the damn thing.”
