Friday night’s SmackDown on Fox averaged 1.881 million viewers in the fast national ratings, up eight percent from last week.
It’s the best overnight viewership number for SmackDown since June 18.

The show opened very strong by averaging 1.956 million viewers in the first hour, but it dropped almost eight percent in the second hour to 1.805 million viewers. That’s an unusual ratings pattern for SmackDown. The show usually holds its audience well, and sometimes it even grows throughout the episode. There was no major sports competition for SmackDown last night.
In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown’s overnight number was up 12.5 percent from last week, drawing a 0.45 rating. That topped all the major networks in the key demo.
Unlike most weeks, SmackDown did not finish last in total viewers. It beat American Ninja Warrior on NBC (a repeat episode) and Love Island on CBS.
Year-over-year, SmackDown was down 1.3 percent in overnight viewership and down 10 percent in the 18-49 demo.
